5 Weekend DIY Home Projects Under $100
One of the biggest roadblocks people encounter when starting their DIY journey? Time and money. Luckily, there are plenty of projects that don’t require taking weeks off work or spending a fortune to get done. And those weekend DIY home projects are exactly the ones I’m sharing today!
Remember, these prices are estimates based on the projects I’ve done. The total varies based on the size of the project and the quality of materials used, and it’s calculated assuming you already have the power tools needed. Just something to keep in mind!
Now that we’ve covered that, let’s dive in!

Project #1: Front Porch Redesign
Your front porch is your home’s first impression, and whether the space is big or small, there’s plenty you can do with it! Here are some of my favorite affordable curb appeal ideas.
Create a Faux Wood Front Door: ~$100
Our front door has gone through many phases throughout the years. Currently, it has a beautiful faux wood stain that could pass for real wood! Here’s the tutorial for creating a faux wood door.

Paint or Stain the Concrete: ~$5/Square Foot
This project has proved to be very controversial with the people of the internet. Personally, I love it! Like our front door, I’ve stained the concrete a few different times. And despite what the naysayers claim, it’s held up pretty well.
Create Seasonal Decor: ~$50
I love swapping out my front porch decor for different seasons and holidays. This tutorial walks you through the steps to make a custom sign, and this one shows you how to create a festive door mat!

Build a Bench: ~$75
Assuming you already have the tools you’ll need for this build, you can accomplish this project with less than $100. If you’re in need of stylish seating, head here to learn how to make a stunning modern bench in just four steps.
Weekend DIY Home Projects #2: Repurpose Furniture and Decor
These projects are perfect for updating tired pieces and giving them a new purpose!
Reupholster Kitchen Bar Stools: ~$100
Our kitchen island stools were due for an upgrade—and I was beyond tired of cleaning them every day (see the video below!). I reupholstered them with fresh foam padding and fabric, and they’re just like new.
Repurpose Pendant Lights: ~$75
We were swapping out our kitchen pendant lights at the same time I was looking for new bedside lamps, so I figured, why not reuse them? This project was surprisingly easy, and I saved a lot of money by upcycling our lights instead of purchasing new ones for our room.
Weekend DIY Home Projects #3: Upgrade the Laundry Room
Laundry is an inevitable fact of life (especially as a parent!). Here’s how you can give the space a glow-up.
Install Floating Shelves: ~$100
DIY floating shelves are a great storage solution for laundry rooms that are low on space. And speaking of laundry room storage…

Build a Washer & Dryer Shelf: ~$100
I made this laundry room shelf almost three years ago, and I still use it almost daily! It’s great for folding clothes, storing detergent, and housing mismatched single socks (because you know the moment you throw the single sock away, the other will turn up).

Weekend DIY Home Projects #4: Install Peel-and-Stick Wallpaper
Peel-and-stick wallpaper is a temporary, but effective, way to liven up a space! I’ve installed it in several rooms in my home and used a couple of different techniques. Find them below!
Create an Accent Wall: ~$100
You can find peel-and-stick wallpaper in closets, the laundry room, and the powder bath in my house. The space will obviously dictate the price of this project, but if you’re doing a small area like an accent wall, you can accomplish it for under $100! Check out my guide to creating the perfect peel-and-stick wallpaper accent wall here.

Create a Custom Mural: ~$100
I used this gorgeous wallpaper and some trim pieces to make this stunning artwork for my office! I will say, although I think the cost was well worth it, this specific wallpaper does push you well over the $100 mark. However, it’s still more affordable than buying a mural of that size. Follow along with this two-step tutorial to create your own peel-and-stick wallpaper mural!

Weekend DIY Home Projects #5: Upgrade Your Bathroom
These no-demo updates help transform your bathroom into an oasis for under $100 each.
Replace the Towel Rack: ~$40
Pairing this towel rack (that I added some custom touches to) with fresh, fluffy white towels instantly added a spa-like vibe. Check out the tutorial here!

Update the Lighting or Mirror: ~$100
I gave my kids’ bathroom a complete transformation, and adding a new light fixture (similar) and mirror was a key part of modernizing the space.
