The Best Sugar Cookie Recipe (Plus Homemade Frosting!)
The holiday season just isn’t complete without a batch (or three) of sugar cookies, right? I figured it was finally time to share my tried-and-true best sugar cookie recipe! These cookies are soft, chewy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Basically, everything a perfect sugar cookie should be. I’ve also included the measurements for our family’s favorite frosting (it’s so good). Just a little warning: make sure to set a few aside for yourself before you share them with your family and friends… they have a funny way of disappearing fast! 😉

Baking Essentials (Perfect for Making the Best Sugar Cookie Recipe!)
Part of the fun of baking is seeing how much the kids enjoy helping! Younger kids will love rolling out the dough and choosing shapes to cut their cookies into. And older kids will like having the option to make intricate designs with the piping bags, tips, and stencils!
I’ve also included some dye-free food coloring and sprinkle options. Our family has been dye-free for a few years now (I dive deeper into why that is in this blog post). And it’s really not that hard to find food without artificial dyes. The difference it’s made in our lives is well worth the effort!
Happy baking!
