Our Favorite Frosting

Store-bought frosting just can't compete with this homemade version.
The measurements below will make about 3 cups of frosting, which is plenty for 4-5 dozen medium sugar cookies if you’re spreading it on with a knife or small spatula. If you’re piping thicker swirls or using generous amounts, it’ll comfortably cover 3-4 dozen.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 lb powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-4 tbsp milk (More milk = creamier frosting)

Instructions
 

  • Whip all ingredients together until creamy.
