From custom cabinets to a peel-and-stick wallpaper mural to a shiplap ceiling, this office makeover has been a true labor of love. Now, it’s time for the last part: adding the finishing touches that bring it all together. I loved curating the final pieces to complement the space! Keep scrolling to see how it all came together and to gather some home office decor ideas for your own setup.

Idea #1: The Perfect Desk

I searched everywhere for a modern home office desk that was both stylish and functional, and I finally found the one. It has a clean, minimal design with built-in drawers, and the hardware ties in perfectly with the cabinet pulls on the custom built-ins. It’s simple enough not to clash with the other patterns in the room, but it still makes a statement. If you’re looking for a functional desk with storage that still looks good in your space, this one checks all the boxes!

Home Office Decor Ideas #2: Cozy Chairs

I’m obsessed with these home office chairs for a couple of reasons. First, the color pairs perfectly with my cabinet finish. And second, the cozy corduroy fabric and mid-century modern shape make them both comfy and stylish! I have a feeling these chairs are going to be well-loved and well-used.

Idea #3: A Neutral Statement Rug

This rug is exactly what I was looking for: neutral without being boring, super soft, and just the right size for my office. The subtle checkered pattern adds a nice touch without clashing with my peel-and-stick wallpaper mural or art. And the best part: It’s currently on sale!

Home Office Decor Ideas #4: Great Lighting

I searched high and low to find lighting that would fit my office space, and I was thrilled to find this! It’s simple and classic with a touch of femininity, thanks to the scalloped shades.

Idea #5: Floating Shelves

I added these floating shelves to bring a little extra styling space to the corner with the chairs. If you’re feeling ambitious and want to tackle extra-long shelves, I’ve got a full tutorial you can check out here!

Styling Must-Haves

When styling the custom built-ins, floating shelves, and my cozy chair corner, I went with a mix of organic textures, like wood and stone, and kept the color palette soft and neutral. Then I layered in artwork and greenery to bring everything to life. Details are what really make any design, and that was definitely the case here. I am SO happy with how all these elements came together to create one beautiful space!

That’s a wrap on my home office makeover!
